Christmas Tree

O Christmas tree!  O Christmas tree!

Much pleasure thou can’st give me;

O Christmas tree!  O Christmas tree!

Much pleasure thou can’st give me;

How often has the Christmas tree

Afforded me the greatest glee!

O Christmas tree!  O Christmas tree!

Much pleasure thou can’st give me.

It is finally starting to smell like Xmas at our house!  Today was a very important day – a start of yet another family tradition:  cutting our own tree, taking it home and decorating.   It was actually my  very first real tree as well – the one I got to pick out and bring home.  There was definitely something special about this family outing this morning.

And for the kids – wow, what can I say?  They were jumping out of their skin, so full of excitement and joy!   I absolutely love creating these kind of experiences for them and watching their faces light up.  Sam and Ellie have been very happy little cherubs today.

Tomorrow we are doing another Christmas family activity:  making gingerbread biscuits!  I am anticipating a lot of flour dust everywhere, impatient spoon licking and finger tapping on the oven door, struggling to hold back their excitement. 🙂  Ah, the good times ahead!

But for now have a little peak into our adventures on the Xmas tree farm and the results of our efforts.

Sam insisted that he would be responsible for the wagon and also asked me to take his photo sitting on the trailer with a tree loaded on and ready to go home.  🙂

This was the very first ornament I made about 4 years ago and since then have always made one or two every year.
